ΖΗΤΩ ΤΟ ΕΘΝΟΣ - ΖΗΤΩ Η 28η ΟΚΤΟΒΡΙΟΥ means GLORY TO THE (GREEK) NATION - GLORY FOR THE 28th OF OCTOBER.
At the October 28th of 1940 During WW2 the Italian ambassador asked permission from the Greek Governor to move his troops through Greece. In other words surrender without a fight. The governor replied with the infamous ''ΟΧΙ'' which means NO so small and weak Greece declared war against the enormous power of Mussolini's Italy and Hitler's Germany. It's a date Greeks are proud of because it's a proof of no matter how strong or intimidating is your enemy you should never betray your country and nation.

I also recommend listening to the song Coat of Arms by Sabatton (if you're into metal) which is a tribute to this exact day.
