Slovak fan dies in accident in Belgrade


BELGRADE -- A 25-year-old Slovak man died near the Belgrade Arena on Thursday morning, the medical emergency services said.

Spokeswoman Nada Macura confrimed the death.

The man was a fan of FC Spartak from Trnava, Slovakia.

He put his head through a roof hatch of the bus he was traveling in as it was about to pass under a bridge, and was instantly killed, Macura stated.

The group he was with was on its way to Bulgaria, where Spartak is playing a game this afternoon.

They allegedly anounced they won't hang banners at the game, and won't support vocally their team, a kind of mourning for their friend.

Clashes between supporters of the Standard and Zurich: several injured
Clashes took place in the center of Liege, on Wednesday afternoon. These were fights between supporters of the Standard and FC Zurich. Several people were injured. Police officers were sent to the scene and dispersed stakeholders.

A big fight broke out between some supporters of the Standard and those of FC Zurich on Wednesday afternoon before the match in the third qualifying round go the Champions League which begins in a few hours. Many supporters from both sides clashed in the streets of the city, mainly in the "Square".

Malmo - Djurgardens , 30.07.2011.

Another of Malmo's matches was interrupted , when firecrackers and bottlecaps ( !!!???!!! ) were trown at Djurgardens supporters and on the pitch. Also some small fight errupted between the two sets of fans.

A train packed with about 280 passengers has derailed in central Poland as it was travelling from Warsaw to Katowice, killing one passenger and injuring more than 40 others.

Authorities initially said that four people died when it left its tracks around 14:15 GMT, but Adam Kolasa, a police commander, later said one person had died. There was no immediate explanation for the discrepancy.

"Luckily the death toll is not as high as we had originally thought," prime minister Donald Tusk told Poland's TVN24 news channel after visiting the scene late Friday.

The train derailed in the village of Baby, near the central city of Piotrkow Trybunalski, with the engine and three of the train's carriages going off the tracks, police spokeswoman Ewa Drozdz said.

Polish journalist Kamil Tchorek told Al Jazeera that "it was possible the country's ageing railway system may have been to blame."

Tchorek said a lot of the country's tracks "are still very old indeed and much of the EU money coming into Poland to develop the lines is yet to be properly used."

"Travel by train remains widely popluar and is a much better way of getting around the country as compared to the roads which are notoriously dangerous," he said.

A passenger, Marcin Chlebowski, told TVN24 that the train started to slow suddenly and that he then felt a jolt.

The train was running on a special low-fare service operated by the state railway company, PKP.

On Saturday after the game Cherno more - Lefsky in Varna, some Lefsky hooligans attacked fans of Cherno more in a cafe, knifed some of them and beat others with tools and stones. Among the injured are 2 girls, 1 of them 15 years old, and an elderly man. They also stole personal items - phones and wallets.

Five fans of CSKA Sofia were arrested in Cluj !
According to Romanian newspaper ProSport one of them punched a woman on the street.
Accordin to bulgarian website Sportal.bg , the fight broke out when a CSKA fan punched a guy on the street who was wearing a Besiktas jersey.
Romanian police was caught on tape , kicking in the stomach a fallen bulgarian fan.
